SPECIFIC ONE-TO-ONE TUITION ON THE WHEEL
The course is split into 2 sessions and suitable for anyone who has had some experience on the wheel. The course will refine and progress hand skills and free-turning techniques with active guidance. The aim is to practically realise your ideas of a ceramic object through our support, awaken hidden creativity and nurture talents.
First session: 2.5 hours. Regular price 110CHF per person. Maximum number of participants = 3. The session includes preparing and kneading the clay (3kg of our stoneware clay per person), the productive phase on the wheel, working on the blank(s) (additions such as stamping impressions or modelling) and finally cleaning the workplace. The price includes the finishing/firing of two ceramic pieces per person. If you have created more and would like to have more than two fired, this costs 15CHF for each additional piece.
Second session (optional): This is held in the following days after the first session. There must be at least three days in between, as your blanks must first dry and then be raw-fired before they can be glazed. The entire range of glazes from Zermatt Keramik is available to you for this purpose. During this time you glaze at our regular rates of 10CHF per hour.
If it is not possible for you to visit our studio a second time within the following 30 days, you can also inform our ceramist during your first visit of the glaze you would like your ceramics to be glazed with after firing. If you wish to have your pieces glazed by our ceramist, there is an additional charge of 5CHF per piece.
Completion/collection/shipment of the ceramic pieces: After your final visit to our ceramics studio in Furi, the pieces will be ready for personal collection after two weeks. If you are unable to collect the ceramics in person and we send them by post with the additional insurance "FRAGILE", you will be charged shipping costs of 15CHF-30CH. This depends on the weight of the pieces created. Whether shipping is possible depends on the nature of the ceramics. In addition, Zermatt Ceramics accepts no liability for any delivery of damaged goods due to postal transport, despite additional "FRAGILE" insurance.
This course is normally offered from Monday to Friday. Weekend sessions are also available on request. Please do not hesitate to contact our ceramist directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 079 952 48 58 with any questions or to make a booking.
We look forward to your questions and a creative time together in our beautiful studio in Furi.
